Bunny lines are the horizontal wrinkles that appear on either side of the nose when a person smiles or laughs. They are caused by the contraction of the muscles around the nose, and over time, they can become more prominent. However, there is a solution – Botox. By injecting small amounts of Botox into these muscles, they become relaxed, and the appearance of bunny lines is diminished. The treatment is quick, minimally invasive, and provides some results in few days with full effect at two weeks.

Bunny lines form due to the repeated contraction of the muscles in the nose. When we smile or make certain facial expressions, these muscles contract, causing the skin to fold and form wrinkles. Over time, with repeated muscle movements, these wrinkles can become more pronounced and noticeable, particularly as our collagen levels and consequently, the elasticity of our skin, decreases.
Botox works by temporarily paralysing the muscles responsible for creating bunny lines. It is injected into the specific areas where the bunny lines are present, blocking the nerve signals that cause muscle contractions. As a result, the muscles relax, and the skin smooths out, diminishing the appearance of bunny lines. Our clinician uses the premium Allergan brand of Botox to help gain a better standard of results for her patients.
A bunny lines appointment is usually only 20 to 30 minutes long.
You should begin to see some results within 3-4 days of the treatment with full effect at 2 weeks.
Only a single Botox appointment is needed to effectively reduce bunny lines. However, top-up bunny lines treatment may be necessary when the initial treatment with botulinum toxin injections starts to wear off. This usually occurs after 3-4 months, as the effects of the injections are temporary.
