Upper face

Frequently asked questions

This non-surgical procedure involves injecting small amounts of botulinum toxin (Botox) into specific areas of the face to temporarily relax the underlying muscles. By doing so, Botox helps smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, giving the skin a more youthful and rejuvenated look. Additionally, Botox can be used to raise the eyebrows, creating a lifted and more alert appearance.

The injections are likely to be administered in 3 key areas: the forehead, the frown lines between the eyebrows (also known as glabellar lines), and the crows feet around the eyes. These injections are strategically placed to target the specific muscles responsible for causing wrinkles and lines in these areas. Our clinician will carefully assess your facial anatomy and determine the appropriate injection sites for optimal results.

As for the pain associated with Botox injections, most patients report minimal discomfort. The procedure is relatively quick, and a small needle is used to administer the injections. Some patients may experience a slight stinging or pinching sensation during the injection, but it is generally well-tolerated. If desired, a topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand to further minimise any discomfort.

An upper face appointment usually takes 20 to 30 minutes.

Patients can start to see results in few days with full effect at two weeks. The effects of Botox anti-wrinkle injections are not immediate, as it takes time for the neurotoxin to block the nerve signals that cause muscle contractions. The injected Botox gradually relaxes the muscles in the treated area, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance. Patients may notice a slight improvement in their upper face within 3-4  days   with full effect at 2 weeks.

The frequency of top-up Botox treatments for the upper face can vary from person to person. The effects of the injections can last for about 3 to 6 months. However, factors such as individual metabolism, lifestyle habits, and muscle strength can influence how long the results will last. We recommend you schedule a follow-up appointment with our clinician after 3 to 4 months to assess the need for additional treatments.
